Bootcamp Beat – Megan’s October Playlist

By BarrysBootcamp — October 05, 2012

Autumn is here, but it’s not getting any cooler – not with this smoking hot playlist from Megan Conner, trainer at Barry’s Bootcamp Nashville. Bring this with you when you can’t make it to Barry’s and it’s sure to heat your core. Download it from iTunes or play it (and subscribe to it)  on Spotify.

Megan has been teaching and training for over 12 years.  She is known for her spunk, loud mouth and her hard classes.  Her philosophy is, “I’m going to give you a tough class, I’m going to push you to reach a new place that you haven’t before.  You can always back down or back off, but you will never know what you truly can do without trying.  I want you to walk away from my class feeling proud of what you just did.”  She began teaching kickboxing and spinning while attending Baylor University.  After graduating with a degree in theater, Megan moved to New York City to pursue acting, but five days after moving in, she walked into Equinox in midtown and landed a job as a personal trainer.  From then on, Megan fell in love with the fitness business.

Megan went on to train at Equinox and eventually taught spinning, sculpting and other classes all over NYC as well as other cities across the country.  While in New York, she taught at world class gyms such as Reebok/NY, Sports Club LA, New York Athletic Club, Equinox, Crunch and the Athletic and Swim club, among others.  Megan also found a love in fitness management.  She was the Program Director/Group Fitness Manager of the Athletic and Swim Club for over two years.  While at the Athletic and Swim Club, she not only managed all of group fitness classes, instructors and programs at the age of 23, but she also created and administrated the Athletic and Swim Triathlon Club.

Throughout the years, Megan also trained and competed in road running races, triathlon and duathlon races placing in her age groups.

In 2006, Megan had the opportunity to move to Nashville to pursue a career in music.  While in Nashville, she has trained at the award-winning Takes 2 Fitness, had publishing deals, landed songs on major recording artist’s records, taught classes at the YMCA’s and Vanderbilt University and has recently found a new home at Barry’s Bootcamp Nashville!!  Megan feels so lucky to be a part of the BBC family and is watching people transform their lives through BBC. “The energy, atmosphere and people above all at Barry’s make this gym experience completely unique to anything else.” While teaching at Barry’s, Megan is also currently writing, performing, producing and is working on a project to fuse the music and fitness together.

The fitness industry is the ONLY industry that is completely positive.  I have seen so many lives changed through exercise and by maintaining a healthy lifestyle.  To have the opportunity to be a part of this industry has truly been one of the most amazing and important things that I have done in my life thus far.  To know that I can help others reach their potential physically and mentally and reach new goals that they thought once might have been impossible – is truly an unbelievable blessing and honor.  Being a part of that positive process is a true passion. ”
