There’s no better reason to slim down and get fit for this coming Spring season than the chicest trends that are soon to be hitting the streets for men and women. We already know that a steady diet of exercise and healthy eating is a must to maintain a fit physique, so why not show off that slim gym figure with 5 of Spring/Summer’s hottest trends?

1. GRAPHIC PRINTS – One of the most popular trends that you are going to start seeing everywhere, and want to start wearing asap, is the use of graphic prints. Many designers have created very wearable pieces for both men and women, ranging from casual t-shirts and dresses to Red Carpet attire. The trick to wearing this trend is to make sure that the print is contained in some way, either through the use of a solid cuff or minimal accessories that don’t create too much contrast. That being said, it is also important to make sure you keep up on your fitness routine when wearing one of these attention-grabbing trend pieces because people will certainly be looking at you.

2. MONOCHROMATIC LOOKS – Another big trend coming this Spring is head-to-toe monochromatic color. You can either play with different hues of a color like Stella McCartney did so well in her show mixing different shades of green, or you can stick with the same shade of color for the entire outfit like Prada and The Row did. What is important with this trend is to use different rich textures that will create interest in your outfit. Also remember you will be wearing this color from top to bottom, so make sure to stay away from anything too loud and crazy.

3. SHEERS – One of my personal favorites that is very accessible for both men and women is the use of sheer fabrics. So many designers from Prabal Gurung and Giorgio Armani to Rag & Bone and Rick Owens have created beautiful see-through pieces. With this, it is very important not to slack on hard core and full-body days, because you’ll be baring more of your body than usual. This trend has perfect timing seasonally, as the pieces are so lightweight and comfortable. The lightness of the material makes it drape the body in a way that really shows off all of your hard work at the gym. For those who are a little more shy about showing off, you can use this trend by layering different pieces together to create a more full and solid look.

4. CROPS – From pants to jackets and shirts, another trend you are going to want to try this season is crops. You are definitely going to be seeing cropped pieces everywhere you look. It’s a great way to put together a more breathable and comfortable look without baring too much. Because crops can essentially” crop” you and make you look shorter, this is going to look even better as you slim down for the summer.

5. BOMBER JACKETS – The last trend is a little more specific, but a must-have for every closet. The bomber jacket is coming back in a big way. Many designers from Saint Laurent and Givenchy to stores like Zara and Top Shop have done amazing bomber jackets for this season. They aren’t too hugging so they are flattering for most any body type, and overall fun to wear with any look. It can be used to make a dressed-up look more casual or to sport up your everyday look.
